home-iversary

I cannot believe it has been a year since we moved to Central Point. It is certainly true - what my parents and other "adults" have said - that the older you get, the quicker time flies. In fact, we have been back in the Rogue Valley for four years now, and it seems like we just said good-bye to Bend.

The thing I like best about our home (besides the awesome family that lives in it) is the feeling of contentment that floods me every time I think about where we have been and where we are going. I feel that God has blessed us with a "pause" in our craziness. He has given me a chance to slow down and breathe. To sit on my deck and enjoy the clouds. To throw frisbees in my backyard. To take my kids on walks around the neighborhood. To attempt to grow something...anything (please God??). To get to know my neighbors, and their pets. Just to ingest the goodness of Him.
"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10
I just have one more box to empty. There is always one more box. The box that has things in it you don't really want to put out in your house, but that you don't want to get rid of either. The box that you would never miss if it got lost, but when you look in to it, you are so happy to have found it. Ugh. Allen brought that box into the living room so I would have to deal with it. No more ignoring it in the garage. I hope he knows that this is his happy home-iversary present.
