brain surgery

On Christmas Day, we were skyping with Allen's mom in Texas. While we were video chatting she had a seizure. Over the course of the following few hours she was rushed to the hospital, had a couple more seizures, was subjected to a battery of tests, and was ultimately told she had a stroke a few weeks ago, had been having small seizures since then, and was experiencing these traumas due to a large tumor on her brain.

Today she is having surgery to remove the tumor and hopefully be restored to a fraction of her former health - seventy-five percent is what we are being told we can expect. Tomorrow my husband will be flying to San Antonio for two weeks to see his family and to take care of his mom.

I pray for the Holy Spirit to fill Sue with peace that surpasses all understanding, for the surgeon to completely remove the tumor, and for complete healing. I pray for our family to turn to Jesus for strength and comfort, and for Allen to be a light that shines brightly for the Lord. Above all things I pray for God's good and perfect will to be done and for Sue's life to bring Him glory.

This is the last time the kids saw Grammi Sue - Easter 2008
