Blend and enjoy! Just 250 guilt free calories!
(I say guilt free because there are very few calories in this delicious concoction...clearly if you have an aversion to artificial sweeteners or dairy, there would be much guilt involved while consuming this drink. Just a little FYI.)
Smoothie tips, tricks, and ideas -
- Frozen fruit can be hard to blend in a home blender. Try thawing your fruit in the microwave for a few seconds to make them a little softer and easier to blend. This is, of course, not necessary if you have a commercial blender, such as the VitaMix Monster Ice Crusher -rrraawwwr! (Did I mention I love my husband for springing my VitaMix from storage!?!?)
- The amount of juice is approximate. If your blender doesn't seem to be blending (you will know it's not working because it makes that high pitch squealing sound), you will need to add a little more juice. If you find your smoothie is too runny - just throw in a couple ice cubes to thicken it up.
- Try using different fruits, juices, and yogurts to get different flavors. Another combo I really like is strawberries, cranberry/pomegranate juice, and vanilla yogurt. And heck, get crazy and add whatever you are inspired to. Who knew walnuts would be such a tasty addition?
Do you have a tasty creation you'd like to share? I'd love to hear about it, so please leave your smoothie idea in the comment section of this post. Thanks!
Blend well. Have fun. Honor God.
