Have you ever used thesaurus.com? It is an awesome tool that I use almost every time I write. And, not just for my blogs - but also for resumes, cover letters, biographies, notes...all kinds of things.
I don't like to use the same words over and again. Synonyms are my friend. Many times I want to say the same thing, but don't want to use the identical word (see how I just did it right there? same/identical) - so I hit thesaurus.com and check out my options. It not only animates my communications, but it also strengthens my vocabulary. Many times I have been interested/fascinated/delighted to discover a new word and it's meaning.
It is also great for antonyms...you know, opposite, reverse, antithesis...
